I've missed watching Mexican Soccer
I haven't had time to watch much TV this past year but I can always torrent episodes I miss, I hate watching matches after they've happened so I've pretty much been on a soccer hiatus for the past 9 months. I've missed it. The game, the players, the crazy fans who show way to much body-painted skin. Mostly though, I've missed the commentators. Like today for example.

The coach for Team A never smiles. Ever. So the camera is on the coach and a player from Team B goes up t him, they hug, give each other manly pats on the back, Coach A smiles and then Player B leaves. So throughout all this the commentators are like:

1: Look at that, El Tuca is smiling.
2: He never smiles.
3: That's a surprise.
2: When did (the coach) have him? (as in, in which team did El Tuca coach him)
3: He hasn't.
1: Lists the teams they've both been on, they don't match.
1, 2, 3: .....
2: Well, he makes El Tuca happy.
1, 2, 3:....
1: Maybe they're just good friends.

--Goal 12 min. by a team that was in the running to go down to Primera A, in a semi-final, is wonderful.

--Red card for the star player of the same team before the 30min mark, not so much.

--10 on 10 is good.

--1-1 ....not happy

--OMG, this game is gonna kill me.

--SOB, 2-1...really not happy

On SGA Season 5

So, I ended up skimming through a couple of episodes 'cause they were a little too painful to watch, but overall a was happy. Keller/McKay seemed too forced to me, it would have blindsided me if I hadn't already been spoiled for it. It just didn't seem to flow naturally. Shepard/Mckay on the other hand.... Really, IMO, John is j in love with Rodney but Rodney is just stuck on his fantasy life to pay attention. I'm pretty sure seeing Teyla with a baby just brings forward how much he wants to live in a happy family unit. I'm pretty sure that's only because he didn't really have that growing up. I had hope that Teyla and Ronon would be better utilized in this season and sadly, but not surprisingly, was greatly disappointed. Ronon stayed the strong, virile, faithful protector. Who of course just happens to be a person of color. Now, while I'm glad Teyla went from being a blatant T & A meant to hook up with one of our heroes (which is probably the reason I didn't like the character in the first place), her story line extended no further than Teyla, Mother to Torren John. And I'm not even going to start on the name. But, idk, maybe its just me but I seem to think women can multi task and be more than just mothers. And while I do appreciate the attempt to show how hard it is to be a working mother, we had nothing more from her.

On the whole, SGA had so much potential to deal with so many issues, political/social/moral, and it didn't. Every time I thought we'd go more in depth into something a new story arc/character would be introduced and we'd segue into their story until, it seemed to me, the writers got a little bored and either went back to the original arc/character for a while, or introduced another new one.

Having said all that, Vegas was probably the best episode in the series. It FREAKING MADE ME CRY DAMMIT!11!! I think I got more from Sheppard in that ep that all the others combined. I watched it last night around midinght and I'm still depresseed from it, and that upsets me because SGA wasn't supposed to be the kind of show that does that to me. So many things I could say about it, but I end up too upset to write anything coherent and that kinda embarrasses me a little.

Now, to catch up on 24.

aww don't! I think it's so funny you can even notice the sexual tension in a soccer match.. and your reaction to the score.. that just shows you're a true fan *nods head once* rock on! *thumbs up* that's nothing to be embarrased about..
